Bank daysMost banks will reject a payment if the bank is closed on the payment date. It is therefore important that payment dates do not fall on days when the banks are closed. To avoid this, users can activate the ‚Bank day‘ calendar under Vendor/Maintanence/File formats for methods of payment. Uniconta has a calendar with all bank holidays in several countries where Uniconta operates. We are adding more countries in due course.
The ‚Bank day‘ can be set to one of the following three options:
The payment dates are checked when the payment file is set up. Payments that fall on bank holidays will result in an error.
Cash discounts In the case of payments with cash discounts, Uniconta suggests the latest working payment day before the due date, even if the user has selected ‚After‘ under Bank day.
Examples Bank day = Before In this Danish example, there are two payments where the due date is Saturday 30.06.2018. In Denmark, banks are closed on a Saturday. The payment date is therefore corrected to Friday 29.06.2018, which is the first working day before the due date.

Bank day = After The following Danish example shows two payments where the due date is Saturday 30.06.1018. In Denmark, banks are closed on a Saturday. The payment date is therefore corrected to Monday 02.07.2018, which is the first working day after the due date.
