Company data in Uniconta is automatically backed up in the cloud. However, local backups can be performed concurrently on the user’s drive. How to perform a local backup
Use the navigation panel to open Tools/Additional Setup/Local backup.
Enter the „Field delimiter“. This is the character that separates data fields within the file that is saved as a local backup. A semicolon is recommended, since it is already included in amounts.
Click on the „Local backup“ button in the toolbar/ribbon to begin the backup.
Choose the backup destination. Any destination that is linked to the user’s computer can be chosen: locally on the users PC (not recommended), server, external disk/USB, OneDrive, Dropbox etc.
Assign a file name to the backup. For example BackupUniconta”date”. This way the backups can be administered by date. Next time a local backup is performed, Uniconta will remember the previous backup settings used. If an external disk/USB is being used, we recommended that the user alternate between two or more separate disks/USBs in case an error occurs on any of them.
The backup is exported as a compressed Zip file consisting of a CSV formatted file for each table of the company’s data.
The backup contains all current accounting data. If the user has several sets of accounts in Uniconta, then a backup should be performed for each account. We recommend that the backups are saved in separate folders so that the files do not get mixed in with each other.
In order to backup physical vouchers, go to General Ledger/Reports/Physical Vouchers.
