Budgets can be entered into Uniconta and compared to actual numbers. To set up a budget, use the navigation panel on the left side of the Uniconta screen and go to General Ledger/Budget.
Click on ‘Add budget model’ in the toolbar/ribbon. Insert the budget name and period. If the budget is to be part of an anchor budget then select an ‘Anchor budget’ from the dropdown menu.
An existing budget can also be copied, by clicking on the ‘Copy budget and lines’ button in the toolbar/ribbon.
Insert the name and the number of months to be copied, as shown in the screenshot above. The budget being copied can also be changed by a given percentage in the ‘Change Pct’ field. The budget has now been set up. To insert budget lines click on the ‘Budget transactions’ button in the toolbar/ribbon.
Enter the details for the line item. Select the ‘Date’, ‘To date’ and ‘Account’. It is also possible to enter a ‘Comment’. Insert the ‘Amount’. Select whether the amount should be automatically recurring for a certain period. Click on ‘Show simulated figures’ in the toolbar/ribbon to show the result of the line items added.
The ‘Adjustment’ field can be used to add a period adjustment percentage. The screenshot below shows an example of an increase of 5% being added each month.
Several lines can be added for each account for a chosen period. In the screenshot below, for example, there are two line items for the same period on the same account.
Budgets can also be inserted as individual posts per month rather than recurring. This method should be used when using budgets in Dashboard or exporting to Excel via OData. Entry methods can also be combined as shown below.
The result of the budget can be printed in the financial statement generator via General Ledger/Reports/Financial statement. The screenshot below, for example, shows the creation of a budget financial statement in column format for 2018.
Click on ‘Generate’ in the toolbar/ribbon and the budget financial statement is shown as follows:
