Fields and sequencing
Example: Go to General Ledger/Posting in the navigation panel.
Right click on column headings: Right click on column headings to view layout options for each column. We have described a few of the options below.
Compress fields, Auto-fit columns: Having right clicked on any of the headings, “Autofit columns” can be selected in the drop down menu. This will compress the fields as much as possible, while allowing the user to keep as many fields as possible within view. Note that parts of the headings and their content may be hidden.
Remove field: To remove a field, click on the field heading to be removed and drag it above the toolbar/ribbon while holding the mouse button. A white cross will appear in a red circle next to the heading that has been dragged out. When the mouse is released, the field will disappear. The field and all of its data can easily be returned to the layout, as shown in the next section of this document.
Insert/Select fields: Right click in the column heading and choose “Select fields”. A list of possible fields will appear in a “Field list” and the headings can be dragged, one by one, into the heading area. Note that this “Field list” menu may appear at the bottom of the Uniconta screen.
Adjust field width: The field width can be adjusted manually by using the mouse to drag the edge of the field heading. Field sequence: The order that the fields appears in can be arranged by using the mouse to drag column headings to your desired location. Save, Delete, Load saved layoutIf a new screen layout is required for future use, just click on the “Layout” button in the toolbar/ribbon and select “Save layout”. The layout can now be named. Several different layouts of the same screen can thus be saved.
Previously saved layouts can be retrieved by selecting “Load saved layout”. Layouts can be deleted by selecting “Delete layout”.
Layout functionalityOccasionally fields do not appear in the “Field list” when attempting to add headings to a layout. All fields that were in the database when the layout was created are, in fact, hidden in the saved layout, and so are in fact available in the “Field list” to be retrieved once again. However, if the layout was saved before a field was added to the Uniconta database, then that new field will not appear in this old layout and therefore cannot be retrieved. The solution is to delete this layout and create a new one. The screen must be exited and entered again, in order for it to refresh and include any new fields. Once back in the screen, the Uniconta’s standard layout will be shown and the new field will now be included in the “Field list” for selection.
Fix one or more columnsColumns can be fixed in place on the left or right side of the screen, by right clicking on the heading and choosing “Fixed Style”. The columns must be fixed or opened one at a time.
It is now possible to scroll left and right without loosing sight of the columns that have been fixed.
Group by
Click on the headings and choose “Show ‘Group By'”. It is now possible to drag fields to and from the darker blue bar, which will appear between the fields headings and the toolbar/ribbon.
Compound field
“Compound field” can be used to compound fields from other related tables that are shown on the list of fields.
In the example above, “Account number” and “Account name” have been selected within “RefCreditor”. Once “Finish” is clicked, these fields will be shown on the list as illustrated below.
Filter within a field
Right clicking any field, allows filtering by the value of the field, as shown above. | Go to Layout Templates Search |
