Uniconta enables the user to send e-mails from their POP3 or IMAP e-mail server by providing the SMTP details. Uniconta will then refer to the user’s e-mail server, instead of the Uniconta server.
To set up your SMTP credentials, use the navigation panel to go to: Customer/Maintenance/E-mail setup and click on ‘Add’ or ‘Edit’ in the toolbar/ribbon.
It is necessary to ‘Verify POP3’ before saving a new email record. If ‘Save’ is clicked before verification the following message is displayed:
To verify the SMTP settings for a record, click ‘Verify POP3’ in the toolbar/ribbon, as shown in the first screenshot above. A dialog box is then displayed asking for a target test email address:
Enter an email address you have access to, that can receive the test email and click ‘OK’. If the test is successfully sent, the following message will be displayed:
The test email should arrive in the specified account. After a successful verification, the SMTP fields are disabled.
If an error occurred, a message will be displayed such as the following two:
Now you can click on the SMTP – Host dropdown panel to view and complete it, as shown in the screenshot below.
The protocol is TLS, so the mail host should use tls://
For example: tls://smtp.minmailserver.dk
TLS is set to port 587

The same e-mail can be used for both the ‘SMTP User’ as well as the ‘Sending e-mail’ if required.

A SMTP set up for Office 365 will look like this:
‘Allow different sender’ shown in the SMTP-Host panel above, is a setup in office 365 that generally does not allow a mail account to send emails from other people. Checking this box confirms that you approve this.
Click on the ‘Kontroller SMTP Host’ button (English button screenshot coming soon) in the toolbar/ribbon to confirm the information. Enter your e-mail address. Click ‘OK’ and click on ‘Save’ in the toolbar/ribbon. The SMTP is now ready for use.
